DescriptionThe author aims with her thesis to show how music in Thailand functions as a medium for the dissemination of propaganda and raise awareness of the situation in her own country, which continues to face class inequality and the problem of governance in the military dictatorship that has been deeply rooted for a considerable amount of time. On the other hand, the people do not have access to a true democratic system. The research in this thesis looks for similarities among Dictators' policies and the usage of music to help achieve the idea of nation-building, globalization of Thailand, and to maintain their power.
