TitlesUntertitelDrawbacks and possible solutions in collaboration projects between an Industrial Designer and a Mechanical Engineer
StudienarbeitBachelor of Arts BA ZFH in Design, Fachrichtung Industrial Design
DescriptionAs part of my bachelor's degree work, I have had the opportunity to participate in atandem project with a mechanical engineer Duggal Ammandip, who is attending the
Master's degree course at ETH Zurich, for Sandec, the Department of Health, Water and Solid Waste for Development of the company Eawag, which is the Swiss Federal
Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology. Being conscious of the differences
between the two fields, we are going to pursue a collaborative project.
To provide an overview of the collaborative project, the assigned task is to create a
measuring instrument to quantify the fecal sludge present in the various specific
containers of the onsite technologies (underground tanks of the toilets) of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).
The goal of this theoretical work is first to find the problems that could arise in a
collaborative project between an Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering and to collect possible solutions to solve these problems.
Therefore, this paper is going to consider two main assumptions. The first, relating to my speculative concerns about a collaborative project, is that they may contain drawbacks I define drawbacks as small issues that can be solved. Furthermore my second suggestion states that the potentially arising issues of a collaborative project can be solved through Design Thinking.
