DescriptionThe thesis aims to analyse the music and reflect about its role on the artistic weight in what is considered the seventh art. The first chapter gives a historical background of the beginning of the seventh Art, focusing on the Silent movies and later on the Golden Age, in order to be able to comprehend the development of cinema and the appearance of music in it, as well as a biographical section about Allen Silvestri, the composer of the music from Back to the Future.
Later, the author analyses the orchestral score from the film in question and the relation it has with specific moments of the work where the music is played, aiming not only to look into the artistic depth of the music itself, but also understand how it interacts with the visual component, crafting a unique master work.
