Beschreibung"This thesis [...] describes how I applied Design Thinking principles in different contexts during the course of a bank-project and how this ultimately lead the creation of the Galvanizing Alcove; a system that enables me to practice and explore Design Thinking in a holistic way. My initial focus for the CAS project was to use Design Thinking for the optimization of a new graphical user interface tailoring it to different user groups. Soon I found myself successfully applying different Design Thinking methods to a variety of settings. However, the most important results were not the individual insights gained from the design interventions, but the transformations that had happened within myself. I had changed my mindset and approach to solving problems. This internal process did not stop there, it stretched out into the physical world and manifested itself in the way my workplace, desk and walls had changed. Thus, the Design Alcove came into existence, a multifaceted system to implement Design Thinking in a company.
All of this initiated a metamorphosis within my coworkers. The way story boards, personas and user journeys made my work visible started to affect the people sitting in my office. The new Design Thinking methods like co-creation and visualization I had been using in workshops and meetings got the attention of the participants. The result was that several superiors started to consult me for a wide variety of matters. This would range from simply stopping by and asking about a method as well as requesting further workshops to entrusting the lead of a new project to me.
