Description“It was in the abovementioned article by Neuburg that, besides Boggeri, I discovered Franco Grignani. I am intrigued by three extraordinary advertisements, sharing the same enigma: Who is talking to me? In real size, that line of italics at the foot is clearly legible: ’courtesy of Alfieri & Lacroix’ , an important, historic Milanese industrial graphics firm. In the first ad, which we have here, the attention is grabbed by a big ’Pronto’ that becomes a voice, where the "R" and the "O" are doubled. The "R", in a stronger tone, comes forward, while the "O", in a softer tone, shifts back behind the receiver. To furtively listen to a beautiful, secret neoclassical conversation.“
