«Tribute to Melk Imboden»
Melk Imboden is one of today’s most prolific Swiss poster designers, working chiefly in the cultural sector. Imboden draws on the classic design elements of modern graphics, photography, and typography. But even though his works follow the tradition of Swiss Style, he has developed his own independent aesthetic. Typical of Imboden’s typographic posters is the use of overlapping or interlaced letters to define space. High-impact black-and-white is accompanied by the use of bright contrasting colors, which are further enhanced by screen printing. In his photo posters, which are often based on his own shots, Imboden develops an exciting and dynamic interplay between photography and typography.
