«Architecture in Decorative Art»
To mark the opening of the newly refurbished Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, the collection is presenting architecture as a motif in the decorative arts. Examples range from the simple gabled house as a design theme, to Hermann Obrist’s biomorphic models for fountains and monuments, all the way to the porcelain castle. And the quest also brings to light entire villages and city skylines, as well as small details like bronze doorknobs and curiosities such as rabbit warrens made of clay.
