Description«I chose this colour chart without knowing anything about it. I like the geometric system that the hexagon-shaped colours produce as they radiate away from the central black tile. After a little research I discovered that the inventor of the system, Aemilius Müller, devoted the last 40 years of his life towards the perfecting and understanding of colour, after coming across a copy of Wilhelm Ostwald’s Colour System. Ostwald’s system that Müller admired so much is a threedimensional model consisting of two cones, assembled base to base, with a white top and a black bottom, which display the full colours on the equatorial line and which can be split to reveal the progression of greyness of the colours towards the middle axis of the cone.»Jasper Morrison
