DescriptionThis question is a personal matter with the aim to ease life of patients. The approach had been tackled by "Design Thinking" and followed the "Double Diamond" with focus on the Discover, Define and Develop process. The Discover phase emphasized the need of injections. Furthermore, the investigation identified the relevant indications. The most important impairments got unveiled by outlining the patient journey including device usage.
During the Define phase further insight of the diseases was collected and led to the description of Personas which had been used to spot the pertinent fields for a future device.
The cognitions gained defined the challenge as follows: "How might we design a convenient injection device to increase comfort of self-administration for impairments in the field of vision, hearing, dexterity, tactile sensitivity, attention and memory?" The develop phase had been set up as a co-creation workshop and resulted in a first prototype which allows further evaluation with patients."
