Description“In 1956, in what was then the cloudy whiteness of Paris, I was struck by the cheerfully multicolored shutters of paint shops. I rediscover the “Bazar de la couleur” in the precious book "Die neue Graphik" by Karl Gerstner and learn that the concept of indubitable efficacy in terms of identification and signage dates back to 1875. A tribute, thanks to the perceptive documentary labor of Ifert, to the anonymous forerunners of a sectorial corporate image, which without rigid indications brought color into the streets for more than a century.“
