Collages made for fun without reason to experience large formats. Nine collages: The new graphics by Weingart. Set of 10 single sheets printed in 1975. Nine collages all made during the 1970s. Sent out rolled up in a packaging tube to the people who ordered them (probably through TM). Letterpress (nylon printing plates, a very cheap technique). 2 of the sheets (cover and collage 7) printed as offset. Was made during the time WW was leaving letterpress and heading towards his experimental film techniques. Was time when WW was also influenced by the very free style of close colleague Christa Zelinsky. Original collages were approx 1m x 1m and stuck together with tape. Only one original still exists (New York), in the house of an old student friend in Germany, all the others were cut down into smaller parts for the purpose of reproduction. These final printed sheet sizes were the largest format WW could print in the type shop on the hand press.
