Description“Halfway through 1929, in Stuttgart, the exhibition "Film und Foto" came to an end, immediately followed by the release of an epochal book, "Foto-Auge". The meteoric title: photo-eye. Barely visible, because Jan Tschichold wants to let us observe the eye in the palm of the hand. And in the hand, the compass of the "Builder". That was the title assigned by El’ Lisickij to this intense self-portrait. To preserve the embossed title whispered in three languages, three rules—eight points for the two uprights, just one point for the horizontal—intervene to make us look again.“
