Meanwhile, they have shifted focus to prioritise user retention with features like infinite scrolling, competitive reward systems, and algorithmic feeds, often impacting users' well-being in a negative way. «Cliq» is a social networking app that challenges this approach with human-centric design and ethical engagement tactics. With the usage of location-based group chats to facilitate conversations relevant to a users' culture, language, and general lifestyle, it aims to foster genuine connections in digital environments and promote interactions that can easily be translated into real-world interactions.
