DescriptionGrowing up and becoming acostumed to being an instrumentalist, due to my
involvements in oboe playing, I believe I have underestimated the immense
power of singing. Of course that singing out loud all the time isn’t something that
our society encourages and perhaps I have even repressed some of this
childhood musical expressions in order to please my family, but what I have come
to realise when analysing myself and others is that we, instrumentalists, are
somewhat afraid of singing because we are aware of its complications and
complexities. Since then I have been paying much more attention to singing, let
us remind ourselves once more that our voice is the very first musical instrument.
So with this in mind and when set to create a Bachelor Project I have decided to
grab vocal works of one of the world’s most innovative, emotional, creative and
spectacular musician/composer – Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. My goal is to
capture his vocal music’s beauty and complexity with something that I have
grown to develop a bit more than my poor voice, the oboe.
