DescriptionABSTRACT:
Communication based on meaning may delay the process of connection between hearing impaired and normal hearing people. The distortion of the content is implicit due to subjectivity of understanding while translating language. Lack of awareness and flow is observed in the social interactions happening between both groups.
The purpose of this work is to explore the paradigms from non-verbal information transference between different sensory-abled people. It studies the case where communication is being engaged not by transferring rational data but by engaging body movement synchronization and awareness between two persons in a telepresence setting.The non-verbal communication link is represented by different types of feedback that intend to be manifestations of synchronicity and awareness from body movement.
“Follow or being followed” is used as a premise for the development of a collaborative task - find each other and stay synchronized.
