Cover for TM magazine No. 6.7 1973. Words from April Greiman when asked by WW in class how she created so many good compositions so quickly, Greiman replied “I am feeling typography”. The sentence was so short that WW translated into three languages to have more text to play with, also a more playful interpretation within a very serious theme. Overall theme for covers was to analyse words that have a relationship to communication and typography. Quotes / thoughts were used from researched manuscripts of scientists and theoreticians of the 20s / 30s / 40s / 50s / 60s in response to the question ‘What is typography’. Hand composed by WW then zinc plate created. Black and silver. Special issues meant 3 x numbers are missing from WW series: 1 Dario Zuffo, 8.9 Helmut Schmied. Sketches exist (object no. 291).
