Although photography is no longer a main focus of the museum’s collecting activity, the holdings in this area (C-prints, paper prints, slides, cinema slide ads and daguerreotypes) still continue to be supplemented as appropriate. The focus is on applied photography: object and advertising images (for example by Hans Finsler and Alex von Steiger) as well as architectural and reportage photography (for example by René Burri). The links with commercial art (photo montage, photo series, etc.) are the strongest here.
