Maji Taka is a Faecal Sludge Measurement Instrument Set, consisting of a distance measuring device and a sonde for the determination of faecal tank volume. It helps researchers to calculate the amount of faeces produced in a statistically relevant number of toilets. It thus creates the necessary basis for a region-specific design of efficient and sustainable treatment plan.
