«150 Posters by the Lake»

To mark the 150th anniversary of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, 150 international posters from the past 100 years are on view by the lakeside. The varied exhibits showcase the Poster Collection's wide range of visual styles and themes. Works by renowned designers appear alongside rare finds by unknown creators – cultural posters next to political, tourist, or commercial advertisements. The exhibition has been conceived as a special tribute to the City of Zurich and its lake. Grouped in threes based on formal and design language, subjects, colors, or narrative criteria, the posters engage in a lively and playful dialogue as they take viewers on an associative journey through poster history.
