Works of «Permanent Loan from the Swiss Confederation»

Since 1989, the Swiss Federal Office of Culture (FOC) has financed the purchase of important Swiss design objects in the interest of promoting design. These objects are on permanent loan from the Swiss Confederation to the collections of the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich. The museum acquires both design sketches and the executed pieces, preserving and cataloguing them. More than 2,000 objects are therefore currently available for research purposes and are regularly featured in exhibitions and publications.
