Collection Info
The mixed color orange is named after the citrus fruit, which originally came to Europe from India. The color name only became established as the fruit grew more widespread. Goethe still spoke of «yellow-red» and «red-yellow», while Le Corbusier set accents in a tone he referred to as «orange vif.» The luminous hue began to be used sporadically in product design in the 1920s, slowly gaining ground until it reached its peak with pop culture. Orange stands for energy, activity, lust for life, change, and openness, which makes it ideal as an anti-establishment and signal color, and also for a bold brand identity, or as a vibrant shade in home design, fashion, and advertising.
