«Ceramics»

The Museum’s exemplary collection of ceramics includes pieces from earlier cultures as well as folk pottery. Ceramics from the Jugendstil period are represented by artists such as Henry van de Velde, Max Laeuger, the English Ruskin Pottery and a significant group of Dutch household pottery. For the following periods, the influence of peasant pottery and that of East Asia remained important sources of inspiration for multifaceted new creations. Special attention is given to the harmony between form and glaze.
